Don't know your hat size? Here's how to find out. Wrap a cloth measuring tape or string around your head at the point at which your hat normally sits (~ 1/2" above your ear and across mid-forehead). Pull the tape or string tightly enough to get an accurate measurement, but not uncomfortably so. Take the measurement and match it to the next largest interior circumference listed above.
A word of caution: Most men actually wear a size large hat instead of a medium. Just because you are a medium in pants, shirts, etc. doesn't mean vour hat size is a medium too!

"Its a cool hat and a well built hat. My problem was the large was too small and the XL was a bit big so I went with the XL and will deal with it. The large will not stretch but maybe a small give in it would help. Anyway I’ll look like a real deal at the Yacht Rock Party!"

"I'm the boatswain (bosun) of the historic 1877 Barque Elissa in Galveston, TX. After a similar linen cap which I love and has over 5,000 sea miles under it's brim went sour on me literally, I can't wash the cap enough times to get the smell out once it gets wet at all. Sad day as getting wet from the ocean/sweat/rain is part of my job. So, I needed a replacement, and double quick. Been eyeing this feller for some time because it has four grommets to let out the head heat, but was concerned about sizing as I'm a 7 1/4" in all my fitted hats which land exactly between the medium and large sizes. Fearing the medium would be too tight, and possibly shrink in the oppressive heat, I opted with a Large and it pulled down over my ear tops. However, because the quality seemed so nice(and is) I inserted a cork hat fitting strip up forward and now it's my go to work hat. The grommets help vent my head heat and I've been wearing it ever since. I should've taken a before picture, but I reckon it'll get nice and salty under the sun. Already got some tar on it and been f****ng around tuning up the rig and it's held fast so far to the rigours of the job. I plan to buy that tan and navy one sometime in the future. And probably replace my navy one once this one let's go, which I don't see happening any time soon. If yer on the fence about whether or not to haul away...let go and haul!"
